Mr. Bendure is an associate consultant with Robert Hughes Associates, Inc. He is the principal of Quantum Leap Solutions (www.qleapsolutions.com), a business, financial, risk and insurance consulting company. He has extensive experience as an underwriting manager for umbrella and excess liability lines, pollution, transportation, professional and allied health lines of liability. He is also experienced in contract wording, product development, coverage enhancements and treaty issues.

Mr. Bendure is a graduate of Our Lady of the Lake University where he received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He later earned an MBA in corporate finance from the University of Dallas. He received his Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation in 1980, the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1982, the Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) designation in 2002, the Certified Forensic Consultant (CFC) designation in 2004, the Fellow of the Risk & Insurance Management Society (RF) designation in 2005, and the Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) designation in 2007.

He began his insurance career in 1977 selling commercial lines including property and casualty, group life, health and disability for the Sentry Group of Insurance Companies in Dallas, Texas. He began underwriting for Sentry in 1979 as a product liability specialist.

In 1980 he joined the Hartford Group of Insurance Companies as a casualty underwriter, Umbrella specialist and training supervisor for underwriting trainees. Between 1981 and 1984 he worked for CIGNA Special Risk Facilities as an account executive for casualty insurance and casualty risk management programs. He also established an oil and gas underwriting unit for the Dallas region.

Mr. Bendure was appointed, in 1984, as broker for reinsurance products by RFC Intermediaries, Inc., where he headed risk retention and purchasing groups. In 1989 he became vice president and branch manager for reinsurance operations. He coordinated the formation of the finite risk insurance operation.

In 1991 he joined the American International Group (AIG) where he became senior underwriter for global casualty insurance and risk management programs with American International Underwriters. In 1992 he became regional casualty manager for environmentally sensitive casualty accounts in the Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma territories with Commerce and Industry Insurance Company.

From 1993 to 2000 Mr. Bendure was with TIG Insurance Company, Inc. From 1993 until 1994 he was the executive underwriter for umbrella and excess liability lines for the Dallas region. In 1994 he became the underwriting manager for production of umbrella and excess liability lines with the National Support Center. The focus of his underwriting support has been contract wording, product development, coverage enhancements and treaty issues. From 1997 to 2000 he was Assistant VP for TIG (Bermuda) Ltd., involved in offshore captives and from 1998 to 2000 he served as Assistant VP and Product manager for umbrellas, excess casualty and professional liability lines.

Mr. Bendure has been an Associate of Robert Hughes Associates, Inc. since 2000 providing consultation and expert testimony in complicated insurance coverage cases. He also provides consultation regarding strategic planning, training and development for companies worldwide through Quantum Leap Solutions, LLC.

In addition to his CPCU and ARM qualifications he is also a member of The Society of CPCU’s Consulting, Litigation and Expert Witness section (CLEW). He became associated with RHA in the spring of 1997.
